Hundreds of community members paid their tribute to DENOSA Northern Cape’s Provincial Organiser, Tebogo ‘Bra Thiza’ Koikanyang, during memorial services held in Kimberley and Kuruman on 29 and 30 May respectively.
Speaker upon speaker expressed a regrettable loss to the community in the death of Koikanyang. He passed away on 23 May after a short illness. Community members testified about his selflessness and unlimited involvement in community struggles. In addition to his involvement in DENOSA work and activism, he was an active member of SANCO, ANC, SACP and COSATU. Representatives from the tripartite alliance attended both memorial services.
A memorial service for him was held at Galeshewe in Kimberley on 29 May at UCCSA Church. In Kuruman, his home town, the memorial service was held on 30 May at UCCSSA Church in Mothibistad.
His colleagues, DENOSA members, fellow shop stewards and leaders expressed sadness and disbelief at his untimely death.
He will be laid to rest in Mothibistad at his home town in Kuruman on Saturday 02 June. The funeral service will commence at 06h30 in the morning.
May his Humble Soul continue to Rest in Peace.
