DENOSA President, Simon Hlungwani, addressed the start of the three-day DENOSA National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Wednesday in Pretoria.
The meeting will conclude on 8 June.
"We must be seized with what is ahead of us," he started.
"And what is ahead of us are provincial congresses as well as the national congress. We must make sure that we have the best national congress.
"If we are to own the knowledge space within our profession, we must acquire that knowledge. Do not just celebrate the current achievement; work towards achieving more annd gaining more knowledge.
"If you are permanent enemies, young as you are, you will meet outside  of DENOSA. And if you are permanent enemies, you may not be able to assist each other.
"Power is not about positions, but power may be influenced. I want to plead with this NEC that, in its deliberations, we must be solutions-based and we must always put the organisation first."
He asked the NEC members to unite behind common purpose.
"The leadership is just preferances and choices, but the core is the input that the organisation makes in congresses which gives a positive impact of the organisation."
May we have a fruitful NEC."
