The Democratic Nursing Organisation of South Africa (DENOSA) in Mpumalanga awarded the most caring nurses in the province during the provincial Marilyn Lahana Memorial Trust Caring Awards 2018 Ceremony (Gala Dinner) that was held on 26 September 2018 at Nomndeni Lodges in Mbombela.
The event was attended by DENOSA Mpumalanga PEC Members, Department of Health, COSATU, NEA, DENOSA National Treasurer, Cookie Nkambule, DENOSA Projects Coordinator from Head Office, Kedibone Mdolo, and other guests that were invited.
There were nine (9) Nurses who were competing this awards and the best three Caring Nurses for 2018 are as follows:
1. Overall Winner (Best Nurse)
Sr Bertha Sigudla from Phola Nsikazi CHC
She went home with R5000.00, Trophy, Certificate, Moving Trophy, Gold Medal and Goodies.
2. 1st Runner Up
Sr (Gogo) Sibongile Mncube, Retired Nurse from Standerton Retired Nurses Forum.
She went home with R3000.00, Trophy, Gold Medal and Goodies.
3. Sr Bongiwe Malope, from Asiphileni Private Clinic
She went home with R2000.00, Trophy, Gold Medal and Goodies.
All other 6 nurses who participated and didn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t make it, including a 4th year student nurse, each received a certificate of appreciation, Gold medals and Goodies.
DENOSA Mpumalanga and the Mpumalanga Department of Health congratulate the best caring nurses and urge all nurses to continue care more for patients and promote better patient care.
The winner will represent the province of Mpumalanga at the national award ceremony in Pretoria later this year.
