DENOSA Congress adopts organisational report

Day Two of DENOSA's 8th National Congress kicked off at Olive Convention Centre in Durban on 14 March and saw the organisational report being adopted.

The organisational report is the assessment of the organisation's performance over the period of a four-year term.

The report focused on the operationalisation of the organisation's decisions from the highest decision-making structure, the National Congress which takes place every four years.

The congress is set to discuss the financial report as well as break into commissions on day two.

Day Three, which is the last day, will see commissions reporting back to plenary where resolutions will be made.

Day Three will also see the announcement of the newly-elected national leaders to lead the organisation in the next four years.

On day one, the electoral commission appointed by DENOSA reported to the congress that four candidates had been nominated without any contestation, thus making them the leaders to take over the reigns for the next four years.

They are:

President: Simon Hlungwani
1st Deputy President: Professor Mavis Mulaudzi
2nd Deputy President: Thandeka Msibi
National Treasurer: Alida Portland
