DENOSA MPUMALANGA VICTORY FOR ENROLLED NURSES ON THE 2019 INTAKE FOR R425 PROGRAMME IN NOVEMBER

Nurses in Mpumalanga are informed that DENOSA submitted the intake of Enrolled Nurses for the R425 programme in 2019 for discussion and decision at the provincial bargaining chamber, following the granting of special concession by the South African Nursing Council (SANC) for qualifying nursing education institutions to have final intake of students in 2019 for Diploma: Nursing (General, Psychiatric, Community) and Midwife (R425).

A decision was made at the Public Health Social Development Sectoral Bargaining Chamber (PHSDSBC) that, as of November 2019, 173 qualifying Enrolled Nurses (ENs) from across the province will be taken through the R425 programme.

It was further decided that for the year 2020 intake, 30% of intake must be from within qualifying auxiliary nurses in the province while 70% will be the new intake of students from home.
