DENOSA Student Movement hosts virtual lecture on Gender-Based Violence in the workplace

DENOSA National Student Movement will host a virtual lecture on 1 July 2020 on Gender-based Violence in the workplace.
The virtual lecture will be delivered by guest speaker, Naadira Munshi, Public Services International (PSI) Gender-Based Violence Coordinator for Africa and Arab regions.
The event will take place from 16h00 to 17h00.
DENOSA Student Movement National Chairperson, Nathaniel Mabelebele says the reason behind the idea of hosting the lecture is the rising scourge of Gender-Based violence during the national lockdown as a result of COVID-19, which has seen many cases reported to various police stations throughout the country.
"Health workers, majority of whom are women, feel the thick end of the GBV stick in our society," he says.
"And this scourge is not absent in the workplace; in fact it is done silently and many young people such as student nurses feel it every day in their clinical areas. And only the brave have the heart to speak out. Lectures such as this are one way of encouraging every victim and potential victim to be alert and take the necessary steps in stopping it from continuing," he concludes.
